Designed with the Community

ESH brings together organizations supporting social entrepreneurs working on complex social challenges. In collaboration with Optimistic Design, we worked closely with that community to shape an identity that reflects their values, energy, and pace of work, not a top-down brand, but one that feels owned by the people using it.

Defining the Character

Through workshops and ongoing collaboration, we identified the qualities the brand needed to express: collaborative, growth-oriented, and grounded in equity. We translated those into a visual language of layered collage, bold typography, and a flexible system of shapes and textures, allowing the identity to express both urgency and care while remaining clear and usable.

A System of Connection

We designed a mark that represents connection and exchange, with forms that suggest people in relationship and a continuous flow of ideas and support. That idea carries through the broader system across typography, imagery, and composition, supported by a bright, energetic palette that reflects the momentum of the community.

The result is a brand that feels cohesive, expressive, and built to grow alongside the network it represents.
