SAVING SIGHT WORLDWIDE

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is an annual air show and gathering of aviation enthusiasts held each summer at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. They invited Orbis to showcase their Flying Eye Hospital (FEH) to attendees. The FEH is a state-of-the-art airplane complete with operating room, classroom and recovery room - this amazing aircraft has been an example of the marriage between medicine and aviation since 1982.

INTERACTING WITH ATTENDEES

The exhibition enabled attendees to learn about Orbis’ history, work and impact. Attendee interaction was fostered through text-message donation solicitations, QR codes linked to beneficiary stories. A special hands-on exhibit enabled people to write and share what they most enjoy looking at in their lives. Orbis’s work takes place exclusively in developing countries and this event enabled North American audiences to experience how they are bringing the gift of sight to millions worldwide.

MEETING LOGISTICS CHALLENGES

Designing, printing, shipping and assembling the exhibit’s many components to Oshkosh, Wisconsin proved to be a logistical challenge. We collaborated closely with Orbis’ communications team to ensure that the exhibit elements were shipped securely and assembled according to the conference’s specifications on an extremely tight time deadline.
