The Guide for Postsecondary Changemakers
Designing a Resource Platform with Optimistic Design

What Matters
- Turned a fragmented set of tools into a clear, stage-based guide that helped education leaders understand where they are and what to do next
- Aligned the experience to how leaders actually work, with clear paths for understanding, taking action, and finding resources
- Made a large body of tools and frameworks easy to search, navigate, and apply in real contexts
- Helped institutions move from ideas to action with practical, stage-based guidance
A Stage-Based Approach
Higher ed is moving fast. Rather than add another dense PDF to the pile, the team, in collaboration with Optimistic Design and a group of leading practitioners and field experts, set out to create a central resource where tools, examples, and guidance come together.
The platform is built around a simple idea: transformation happens in stages, and leaders need to know where they are and what to do next.
Designed for How Leaders Work
The experience is organized into three clear paths: understanding the model, taking action, and exploring resources. Each path balances quick insight with deeper content, allowing users to scan or dive in depending on their needs.
Content is structured in a consistent rhythm, with clear entry points, short explanations, and links to go deeper.

Making Resources Usable
A large library of tools, frameworks, and case studies is organized by stage and component. Search and filtering help users quickly surface relevant materials, while summaries provide context for when and how each resource should be used.
The result is a system that functions as a working toolkit, not just an archive.

A Visual System That Supports Clarity
We expanded the visual language to make complex ideas easier to navigate. Color, typography, iconography, and subtle motion work together to create a clear and approachable experience, while infographics help communicate key concepts quickly.

Spotlighting Changemakers
People power the work. The site gives space to the practitioners behind the hub, with partner spotlights, a concise timeline, an animated theory of change, and team bios. It helps visitors see not just what the framework is, but who stands behind it—and why.

From Ideas to Action
The platform is designed to move beyond awareness, helping leaders translate concepts into practical steps that drive real progress and improve student outcomes within their institutions.
